HISTORY

The origins of football in Chesham pre-date the Generals in 1917, which came out the merger between Chesham Generals and Chesham Town; the latter formed in 1894 as a founder member of the Southern League. The club's finest hour was in 1992/3, when the Generals were crowned champions of the Isthmian League Premier Division.

However, the club were denied entry into the GM Vauxhall Conference due to ground requirements and the net result has seen a stagnation in fortunes. Now in the British Gas Business League pyramid following a switch in 2004, the club slipped to find themselves in Division One on more than one occasion but had bounced back.
