HISTORY

Champions of Ryman League Division One North in the 2008/9 season, Aveley stepped up to the Premier Division for the first time in the club's history and, in doing so, heralded a new era at the Essex side. Having ascended through the ranks after joining the Delphian League in the late 1950s, Aveley appeared to hit a peak in Divison One of the Diadora League in the early 1990s. But two bottom finishes signalled a slide back down to Division Three.

However, fortunes appeared have turned. Despite a brief flirtation with the Southern League in recent years, the club has moved to the top of the pile of the Ryman League and has looked more than capable of holding its own.
