BoroGuide are fortunate to be able to call upon a wide squad of players, ranging from the young to the veteran, from the skillfull to the not-so-skillful. The players listed below have all been involved somewhere along the line.
Burgers - Goalkeeper
Previous teams include - Crooked Billet, Weatherfield
The 'Cat' has several years experience behind him, and on his day he can be the safest pair of hands around. Although he is prone to the odd flap, he is well worthy of the No.1 shirt.
Boro' player most like - Des Gallagher
Notnats - Goalkeeper
Previous teams include Collenswood school, Herts Schoolboys, Old Forge, Exchange FC
Although he was at his peek in the late 90’s, this flamboyant goalkeeper is a new addition to the Boroguide ranks. Although he is our current no.2, he is sure to be fighting for the no.1 shirt for the coming summer tour.
Boro' player most like - Paul Wilkerson
"Legs" - Defence
Previous teams include - Boreham Wood
"Legs" is the most recent BoroGuide FC aquisition, who was drafted in to add a wealth of experience to the side, coupled with a cutting edge that's sure to strike fear into the eyes of any opposing striker.
Lighthouse - Defence
Previous teams include - Weatherfield, Old Forge, Tesco's
Lighthouse adds height to the defence, and never stops shouting. Always needs to be shouted at for going walkabouts. Loves to get stuck in, and enjoys winding up the opposition. Is the only one to own an armband, making him captain by association. Beer has slowed down his progress though the hierarchy of football.
Boro' player most like - Barry Laker
Andy C - Defence
Previous teams include - ?
Andy C is a recent addition to BoroGuide FC, and is on trial aiming to clinch a long term contract. He has promised speed and tenacity, and can play anywhere that involves hard tackles. He hopes to put in some good performances to make up for his lack of experience.
Boro' player most like - Kenny Webster
Tiny - Defence
Previous teams include - Weatherfield
Diminutive full back who also doubles as the official club photographer. Appearances can deceive, and Tiny's aggression in the tackle has surprised more than one opponent in past games.
Boro' player most like - Robbie Mutchell
Craig - Defence
Previous teams include - Weatherfield
Craig made his debut for BoroGuide at the Farnborough Tournament and made an immediate impact with an imperious performance. Initially a central defender, but has shown to be more than competent at leading from the centre of the park.
Boro' player most like - Scott Cretton
Sooty - Midfield
Previous teams include - Weatherfield
Another player to debut at the Farnborough Tournament, was initially signed as a back up goalkeeper. Sooty proved his worth to the outfield team after his performances at the Farnborough Tournament. A tough tackling midfield general in the mould of Steve Watson(!), Sooty never fails to give 100% for the cause.
Boro' player most like - Darren Fenton
Bendinio - Midfield
Previous teams include - Knebworth, Woodland, Weatherfield, Old Forge
Over 150 appearances for Knebworth. Bendinio is perhaps the most naturally gifted player in the team. He is good in the air, never shirks the tackle, and is deadly from 20 yards. Never agrees with the Refs decision, and is never one to back down in an argument on the pitch.
Boro' player most like - Sam McMahon
Jock - Midfield
Previous teams include - St. Georges
The unknown quantity of the side, Jock brings to the team that extra bit of Sunday league flair. The risk factor is not knowing how much he'll have consumed the evening before the big match!
Boro' player most like - Phil Simpson
Deano - Midfield
Previous teams include - Weatherfield
Manages youth teams and adds a bit of experience to the team. A great communicator on the pitch, his influence inspires the rest of the side and still has a bit of magic in the old dog yet.
Boro' player most like - Peter Costello
Rosco - Midfield
Previous teams include - Weatherfield
Plays anywhere you ask him to, very versatile player who started the "Hairbands on the terrace" 'trend' which is currently being adopted by other idiots. Rosco will be best remembered for his winning goal against
Aldershot at the Farnborough Tournament
Boro' player most like - Stuart Beevor
Rolo - Midfield
Previous teams include - Weatherfield, Stevenage Boro Juniors
Effervescent, tricky midfielder who debuted at Farnborough too. He beat the Woking. Say no more.
Boro' player most like - Dannie Bulman
Jasper - Midfield/Attack
Previous teams include - Bedwell Rangers, Southampton University, Weatherfield
A player of questionable ability, possesses little ball skill or strength, but makes up for these frailties in sheer dogged determination and awareness. More familiar with wingplay in full-size matches, but is able to play in most positions.
Boro' player most like - Adrian Clarke
Thora - Attack
Previous teams include - Weatherfield
Thora, team manager, hasn't found his permanent position in the side yet. His games in attack have produced little, however, when he has reverted to the middle of the park, he has shown a new lease of life. Hard to disposess, and always wants the ball.
Boro' player most like - Gary Crawshaw
Miss Europa - Attack
Previous teams include - Weatherfield
Nippy striker who is coming in to fill the boots of a recently lacklustre Thora. Brings pace to the front line and a deadly eye for goal. Known for his wild goal celebrations, Pete has a goal a game goal average for BoroGuide after making his debut, and scoring twice, against Weatherfield.
Boro' player most like - Jean-Michel Sigere
