Tournament (11-a-side)
|
Farnborough Towns Cherrywood Road "stadium" play host to a fans team tournament in the name of 'charidy mate'. The charity in question is the 'Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice' and is situated in Farnham, Surrey.
Teams have entered the tournament from Stevenage, Farnborough, Aldershot, Woking and Barnet although it has been suggested that Stevenage manager "Thora" with the ample aid of Signor "Lighthouse" have put together a Stevenage contingent whih can boast a 16 man squad for the 11-a-side tournament and are going along with one goal in mind.... to win.
The day, although primarily in aid of charity, will serve further purposes for BoroGuide FC as they try to drag the name of Stevenage Borough Football Club out of the dirt in Farnborough and with the other Conference teams. This means that Thora and Farney Rubble will be spearheading a "Boro's United" campaign on the day to try and get each set of players to understand that the other set are not as bad they think they are. The third most important point of the day will be to try and exact revenge over a Barnet team who inflicted BoroGuide FC's only competetive home defeat to date.
